'I certainly learnt from that': Reynolds buries past demons with winning goal

Adam Reynolds has shared insights on how a missed sideline conversion that contributed to Penrith's premiership four-peat had equipped him for the decisive goal that put an end to their reign.

In his first game back following a six-week absence due to a hamstring injury, Reynolds allowed the star fullback, Reece Walsh, to maintain the goalkicking responsibilities. However, when Deine Mariner scored, leveling the match in the 75th minute, the Broncos captain took control.

After Walsh suggested he take the goalkicking duties due to a previous miss, Reynolds calmly positioned the ball and struck it perfectly, securing a 16-14 lead for Brisbane and a place in Sunday's grand final against the Storm.

While Reynolds downplayed suggestions that this successful kick exorcised memories of his missed conversion from Alex Johnston's try during South Sydney's 14-12 loss to Penrith in the 2021 grand final, he acknowledged it was a moment he always wished he could redo.
