The Brisbane Broncos, despite recently securing the premiership with the oldest halves partnership in Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt, boast the brightest future in the NRL.

With Jonah Pezet, a promising young talent from Melbourne Storm, slated to join the club in 2027, and the emerging fullback Reece Walsh continuing to improve, the Broncos are well-positioned for ongoing success.

Nevertheless, Reynolds expressed that he was surprised by the signing of Pezet, suggesting he might not be as close to retirement as some assume.

The 35-year-old acknowledged that the decision "caught everyone off guard," but he supports the club's strategy to ensure its long-term success.

"It surprised everyone a bit," Reynolds stated on the Inside Ball Podcast. "But the club's doing what it needs to do to secure the future."

Pezet made waves in the NRL by signing a year-long deal with the Eels before moving to Brisbane in 2027.
