NRL legend Andrew Johns has emphasized that Adam Reynolds could continue to excel in the NRL next season, despite concerns over fitting into the club's salary cap.

Reynolds, who is in exceptional form this season, delivered a standout performance against the Bulldogs, leading the Broncos to their first victory of the year.

At 34, Reynolds' future has come into question, with speculation about whether he would retire at the end of the year or seek opportunities overseas.

Broncos board member Darren Lockyer acknowledged that the club had not planned for Reynolds to remain beyond 2026 but indicated that his current performance might complicate those plans.

Lockyer mentioned that Reynolds might have to accept a significant pay cut to stay with the Broncos.

Johns strongly advocates for Reynolds to play at least one more year, praising his kicking skills.

"I grew up watching Ricky Stuart control games with his kicking game but he is up there with the best I have ever seen," Johns remarked on Channel 9.

He highlighted Reynolds' superior kicking ability and understanding of the game, suggesting that his expertise stems from years of practice and knowledge.

However, the situation has sparked broader concerns within the NRL about salary cap pressures, particularly in light of the limited compensation clubs receive for re-signing veteran players.

The Daily Telegraph noted that many NRL clubs have pointed out these issues regarding the salary cap.

Johns' sentiments reflect a yearning for Reynolds to leverage his remarkable talent for another season, while also addressing the complex financial dynamics impacting team decisions.
