Broncos halfback Adam Reynolds has confirmed his desire to continue playing in Brisbane next year but expressed concern that a new contract could lead to teammates being let go.
Despite a recent lackluster performance against the Panthers, Reynolds has been instrumental in the Broncos' success this season, contributing significantly to their position in the league.
Coach Michael Maguire has indicated interest in re-signing the 34-year-old, but this revelation surprised club legend Darren Lockyer, who mentioned that they hadn't originally planned for Reynolds to play on in 2026.
Lockyer also noted that while the club would like to retain him, his salary might be heavily reduced, partially because Reynolds doesn't qualify for much salary cap relief due to his previous playing history with the Rabbitohs.
The Courier Mail reports that negotiations for Reynolds' contract have begun, with the Broncos open to offloading other high-earning players to facilitate this deal.
Addressing the situation, Reynolds stated, "I'm pretty confident that everyone can stay at the club.
I feel like the club's in a great position to achieve some success, and obviously I want to be a part of that.
I want all the younger boys to be a part of that.
I don't think me staying forces anyone out and if it does, that's not what I mean to do." His comments reflect a commitment to the team's future and highlight his desire to support emerging talent.
