The NRL faced a significant uproar last Thursday night when the Penrith Panthers were penalised for a blocking incident that denied them a potential victory against the Melbourne Storm.
Moses Leota made contact with Storm captain Harry Grant as he attempted to disrupt Nathan Cleary's field goal in the match's closing moments.
Shortly after this incident, the Panthers lost the game, with Grant scoring the decisive try.
Many fans and analysts suspect that Grant exaggerated the contact from Leota, raising concerns about players exploiting the rules.
Billy Slater, coach of the Queensland Maroons and former Storm fullback, has commented on the issue and issued a warning to referees. He stated, "Moses Leota was in an illegal position, and Harry played up to it. He obviously played for the penalty," during an episode of Nine's The Billy Slater Podcast.
