Adam Rigby, a wheelchair rugby league player, has consistently broken barriers since starting the sport as a teenager.

On Saturday, he will make history by becoming the first person to officiate a senior international match from a wheelchair, overseeing the game between Scotland and Wales at the Celtic Cup tournament in Cardiff, which also includes Ireland.

At 32 years old, Rigby's journey into refereeing began accidentally.

"I was at a competition over in Hull and was challenging a decision that had been made in a game I was watching," he shared with BBC Sport.

This unique path highlights both his passion for the sport and his commitment to fostering inclusivity within it.
