Kini or Walsh? NRL Legend Makes Bold Claim
Reece Walsh and Keano Kini have emerged as two of the most electrifying fullbacks in the NRL, captivating audiences with their talent.
While the comparisons between them generally end there, one NRL icon has taken it a step further.
Corey Parker, a Brisbane Broncos legend, has made a striking comparison between Kini and Walsh, asserting that the 21-year-old is "as good as" Walsh following an impressive international debut with the Kiwis.
Kini marked his return to action late in 2025 after a serious neck injury that had kept him off the field for eight months, a condition that came perilously close to causing paralysis, as scans showed he was just four millimeters away from such a fate.
Though Kini has only played six NRL matches this season, his standout performances during the Pacific Championships have caught the attention of fans and former players alike.
In an 80-minute match against Tonga, Kini impressively covered 199 meters, scored a try, and assisted in two line breaks. He then followed that up with outstanding stats of 219 meters and eight tackle breaks in the final two weeks.
These remarkable performances led Parker to shower praise on Kini during an appearance on SENQ Breakfast.
