Reece duo faces charges after Queensland showdown

In a fiery Queensland derby clash, Origin players Reece Walsh and Reece Robson found themselves in hot water after being charged by the match review committee.

Despite their on-field escapades, both players will dodge suspensions and face fines instead.

Coming into the match with clean records, Walsh and Robson were caught up in some rough play, with Walsh hitting Xavier Willison with a Grade 1 contrary conduct charge, and Robson delivering a late shoulder charge to Sam McIntyre.

Despite the charges being deemed as Grade 1 offenses, the players will only have to pay fines if they accept guilty pleas.

These charges may be overshadowed by Kyle Flanagan's dangerous contact charge for allegedly biting Stephen Crichton's nose in the closing stages of the Canterbury Bulldogs' victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Amidst all the drama, the game was a sold-out affair at Kogarah, adding to the intense atmosphere of the clash.
