Redcliffe Dolphins near Bostock re-signing

Controversial, brutal and utterly freakish: The lapses that cost the Dolphins a fairytale

Jack Bostock made his State of Origin debut in the deciding Game III in Brisbane after a standout 2026 NRL season with the Dolphins.

The 23-year-old scored 31 tries in 56 appearances for the club, having debuted in 2023, its first NRL season, under Wayne Bennett.

Now representing Australia, Bostock is expected to make his international debut against the Kiwis on Thursday, following the World Cup's opening match in Sydney.

He is off contract on November 1, but negotiations to keep him at Redcliffe beyond 2027 are well advanced, The Daily Telegraph reported.

"It's still all getting worked out now… but over the World Cup campaign, I'm sure it will all be finished," Bostock said before the tournament began.

There had been concern salary-cap pressure could force the Dolphins to let him go. The club recently extended Selwyn Cobbo, Kulikefu Finefeuiaki and Tevita Naufahu, while Queensland fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow becomes a free agent on November 1.

Bostock's future could also affect centre partner Herbie Farnworth, whose next move remains uncertain amid strong links to a lucrative Sydney Roosters offer.
