Ben Hunt has spilled the beans on his frosty relationship with Shane Flanagan, revealing that they had zero communication during and after his departure from the Red V squad.

The 34-year-old's departure from the Dragons was confirmed on October 30, concluding a contract saga that kicked off with his request for an immediate release in 2023.

Things took a turn for the worse after the 2024 season when Hunt received some harsh feedback during a post-season review, indicating that his performances weren't measuring up to the club's standards, and they weren't interested in extending his contract at that time.

Hunt confessed that he had no desire to hit the ground running in pre-season training without first being granted a release, and interestingly enough, Flanagan wasn't the one who delivered the news that his time was up.

"My last conversations with the club were with Ryan Webb and Ben Haran," Hunt disclosed to the SMH.

In the world of Rugby League, this rift between Hunt and Flanagan is stirring up some serious drama, with the Broncos even rumored to have a "soft spot" for the seasoned player.

As they say in the game, "that says something" about the situation brewing at the Red V club.
