Aliyah Nasio, a second-rower for the Sydney Roosters, has received a four-match suspension for her involvement in a brawl that overshadowed the NRLW grand final.

This suspension marks the longest in the competition's history.

The incident occurred during the Roosters' 22-18 defeat to the Brisbane Broncos at Stadium Australia earlier this month, leading to Nasio being referred directly to the judiciary.

At her judiciary hearing on Tuesday night, Nasio faced charges of striking and subsequently received the hefty suspension.

Reports state that she allegedly threw several punches at Broncos centre Julia Robinson during the altercation.

Players from both teams were involved in the brawl before they were separated, allowing the Broncos to celebrate winning their first title since 2020.

As a result of her suspension, Nasio will miss Tonga's Pacific Championship matches against the Cook Islands and Papua New Guinea, and she will also be absent for the start of the next NRLW season with the Roosters.

Despite this setback, she has recently signed an extension with the Roosters, committing to the club for the next two seasons.
