Dragons star Mikaele Ravalawa has stepped up to play centre for the Fiji Bati team in the Pacific Bowl final against Papua New Guinea.

Ravalawa's teammate, Sunia Turuva, was ruled out of the match due to a calf injury.

Turuva was devastated by the news and will have to watch from the sidelines as Ravalawa takes his place.

Ravalawa, who is primarily a winger, made his Test debut at centre in 2019 against Lebanon.

However, he has never played in this position during his time with the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Despite this, Ravalawa was able to adapt quickly and perform well in last Sunday's match against the Kumuls.

Fiji secured a convincing 43-16 win, with Ravalawa making a valuable contribution.

He will once again take on the challenge of playing centre in the final, which is expected to attract a sell-out crowd at Santos National Football Stadium.
