Knock-On Effect NSW Cup: Ramsey puts together special return to seal win

It may have been Cody Ramsey's first official rugby league match in two-and-half years, but the returning fullback put together a dazzling performance to lead the Dragons to a 34-26 victory over Canterbury in their season opener.

Ramsey put in a strong display on both sides of the ball, making several big defensive stops early before showing off his trademark stride in all its glory throughout the second forty.

Corey Allan, who was playing his first official rugby league game since suffering a torn ACL last preseason, also scored a crucial try, while SG Ball graduates Jacob Halangahu and Finau Latu found the try line as well as the Dragons unleashed a barrage of six second-half tries.

The Dragons fought back with a sensational long-range effort from Tyrell Sloan, who capitalized on a magnificent offload from Lyhkan King-Togia to sprint from his own half and score untouched, leveling the score.

Ramsey once again made his mark on the game with a brilliant, try-saving tackle on the flying Jordi Mazzone.

Dragons front rower Jacob Webster was put on report for a crusher tackle thirty minutes into the game, allowing Mazzone to score off the ensuing play with a skillful pass from Cochrane.
