Canberra Raiders have re-signed veteran prop Josh Papalii ahead of their crucial finals match against Brisbane. This announcement puts to rest speculations that the club's most-capped player might transition to the Super League at the end of the season.
The decision also ensures that Papalii is likely to continue as a one-club player, solidifying his status as a club legend. In expressing his dedication, Papalii stated that there was no other team he wished to play for.
"Canberra has been a massive part of my life for the last 16-17 years, and to extend for one more year is such an honour," he said. "I just want to keep performing and show people why I'm staying on for another year."
At 33 years old, Papalii was just a teenager when he made the significant move to Canberra from Logan, located southwest of Brisbane.
