The Canberra Raiders have decided to pass on pursuing Brandon Smith as they look to bolster their hooker position for the upcoming season.
Despite the departure of Zac Woolford in the off-season, the Raiders are confident in their current options with Tom Starling and Danny Levi in the mix.
Raiders CEO Don Furner made it clear that they will not be throwing their hat in the ring for Smith's services.
"No, we won't be jumping on that train.
No, we're not interested," Furner stated in response to inquiries from the media.
Smith may be sought after by other NRL clubs, but the Raiders are sticking to their game plan and focusing on the players they already have in their squad.
Time will tell if this decision pays off for the Green Machine as they gear up for the 2026 season.
