In a bold move after a string of defeats, Jason Demetriou has swung the axe ahead of the Rabbitohs' clash with their arch-rivals, the Sydney Roosters.
Lachlan Ilias has been left out of the lineup, with Dean Hawkins, the 2023 NSW Cup Player of the Year, stepping in to take on the number seven jersey.
Hawkins, who has only six first-grade games under his belt, is ready to step up to the challenge after a stellar season in reserve grade last year.
Leading the team to their first NSW Cup title since 1983, Hawkins showcased his skills with 140 points, 17 try assists, and 15 line-break assists.
The Rabbitohs will also be boosted by the return of Jack Wighton from suspension, making his club debut, while captain Cameron Murray is set to mark his 150th game milestone.
It's all on the line in this upcoming clash, as the Rabbitohs look to turn their luck around with some fresh faces in the mix.
