In a disappointing start to the season, the Dragons were unable to reclaim the coveted Charity Shield trophy as they fell to a resurgent Rabbitohs side.

The match, held at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, saw both teams engage in a fierce battle right from the opening whistle.

Despite their best efforts, the Dragons found themselves trailing as the Rabbitohs capitalized on their scoring opportunities.

The second half proved to be a shutout for the Dragons, with the Rabbitohs dominating the field and securing their victory.

Coach Shane Flanagan made a strategic decision to give every player in the squad a chance to prove themselves, including a handful of promising young talents.

Unfortunately, the Dragons' efforts were in vain as they failed to execute crucial plays during the match.

One such instance saw Eisenhuth come tantalizingly close to scoring, as he vigorously contested a high kick by Ben Hunt.

However, luck was not on his side as the ball fell just short of the Rabbitohs' goal-line.

Another missed opportunity arose when Tyrell Sloan found himself in a promising position, ready to assist his teammates in scoring a try.

Alas, his offload went awry, leaving the Dragons and their supporters disappointed.

Despite this setback, the Dragons can regroup and learn from their mistakes as they strive for success in the upcoming season.
