Rabbitohs' back Milne charged by MRC

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The Match Review Committee (MRC) has thrown a charge at Rabbitohs outside back Taane Milne following Thursday night's showdown.

Milne finds himself in hot water after being pulled up for a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact offence for tripping the speedy Ryan Papenhuyzen.

Luckily for Milne, he won't be benched for any games if he pleads guilty early and cops a $3000 fine.

However, if he decides to take on the charge and loses, he could find himself sidelined for a couple of matches.

The incident occurred in the second half of the game when Milne got caught tripping Papenhuyzen as the Storm fullback was trying to pull off a chip and chase following a Rabbitohs mistake.

The tackle landed Milne in the referee's book and now he must face the consequences.

In the world of Rugby League, it's all about playing hard but playing fair.

Let's hope Milne learns from this slip-up and gets back on track for the next game.
