R360 Competition Poses Challenge to NRL

The emergence of the Rugby 360 competition poses a significant challenge for the NRL, which may struggle to keep pace.

Rugby 360 is well-funded and eager to attract top talent, presenting an appealing opportunity not only for players but also for their agents.

As reported by the Daily Telegraph, this new rugby competition plans to incentivize agents by offering them 10 percent of player sign-on fees.

This means that for high-profile NRL players like Ryan Papenhuyzen and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, who could negotiate contracts exceeding $1 million, their agents would stand to earn $100,000.

This arrangement offers a lucrative incentive for agents, as the payment is assured by the Rugby 360 organization.

In comparison, the NRL provides a mere 6 percent in sign-on fees for agents, making it clear that Rugby 360's model is significantly more appealing.
