Queensland Under 19 five-eighth Javon Andrews showcased a "cool, calm and collected" demeanor during the intense match against New South Wales on Thursday night, ultimately leading his team to a 23-22 victory.

Under the guidance of coach Darius Boyd, a Maroons legend, Andrews displayed remarkable composure even in challenging circumstances.

When Queensland lost their skipper and kicker, Coby Black, to a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) with just 20 minutes remaining, it was up to Andrews to step up.

He successfully converted a crucial kick that secured the win for his team.

Despite experiencing some nerves, Andrews expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, "the player of the match said it was never in doubt."

This performance highlights not only Andrews' skill but also the potential of the rising Queensland halves as they prepare to take the next step in their careers.
