The Queensland camp is up in arms over allegations of a rift between young gun Selwyn Cobbo and former legend Billy Slater.

Assistant coach Josh Hannay has slammed the rumors, suggesting that the Blues may have concocted the story as a sneaky tactic to unsettle the Maroons.

Leading NRL reporter Danny Weidler stood by his sources, claiming that Cobbo clashed with Queensland coaching staff over his attitude towards training.

Despite Weidler's confidence, Slater vehemently denied the claims, with Hannay also quick to shut down the gossip ahead of the crucial State of Origin decider at Suncorp Stadium.

Hannay dismissed the claims, labeling them as "rubbish" and asserting that Slater remains as determined as ever, unfazed by any outside noise.

The Courier Mail reported that Queensland suspects the origin of the rumors lies within the NSW camp, suggesting a devious ploy to derail the Maroons.

However, the publication could not verify the claims and ultimately dismissed them as baseless.

The war of words continues as both camps gear up for the final showdown.
