Queensland has announced their squad for the women's State of Origin series game one, with Ali Brigginshaw leading as captain once again.
The team has six potential debutants and will face off against New South Wales at Suncorp Stadium on May 1.
Shannon Mato and Evania Isa'ako will miss the series due to pregnancy, opening the door for newcomers Jasmine Peters, Georgia Hannaway, Hayley Maddick, Jada Ferguson, Rory Owen, and Tavarna Papalii.
Despite the absences, the Maroons have a strong lineup with players like Tamika Upton, Tarryn Aiken, and Julia Robinson.
The team will enter camp on April 24 and the squad will be reduced to 18 players on that day.
"The Maroons produced a famous comeback to win last year's series despite dropping the opening game at home."
"Superstar prop forward Shannon Mato and destructive centre Evania Isa'ako (née Pelite) will miss the series after they both announced recently that they were pregnant."
"Julia Robinson is a try-scoring machine who will relish the space created by their quality forwards."
"The team will go into camp on April 24, with the squad to be reduced to 18 on that day as well."
