The NZ Warriors have announced their team for the round 17 Jersey Flegg Cup match against Manly Warringah, set for Saturday at 4 Pines Park in Sydney.

Among the notable selections is 19-year-old Caelys Putoko, who returns to the squad after a standout performance in his New South Wales Cup debut.

"After underlining his promise with an impressive New South Wales Cup debut, Caelys Putoko is back on the Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) stage."

Previously playing primarily in the centres, Putoko has been named at fullback for this match.

He had an explosive showing in the Warriors' 32-12 NSW Cup victory over the Panthers, scoring two tries and accumulating impressive stats: "148 metres from 13 runs, two line breaks, a line break assist, a try assist, five tackle breaks and eight tackles without a miss."

Putoko's inclusion is part of several changes made by coach TJ Ashford following the team's disappointing 14-40 loss to Penrith.

The Warriors are currently four points behind Manly Warringah, having suffered five losses in their last six games.
