The Melbourne Storm's feeder clubs were given a special occasion when they were able to don the prestigious purple jersey for a trial match against the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

According to reports from melbournestorm.com.au, the players from the Storm Academy, Easts Tigers, Sunshine Coast Falcons, and North Sydney Bears got the chance to showcase their skills after training with the NRL Top-30 squad over the pre-season.

Melbourne Storm Assistant Coach Todd Lowrie expressed his belief that pulling on the purple jersey was a fitting reward for those who had put in the hard yards on Gosch's Paddock this season.

Lowrie also emphasized that this trial match provided a valuable opportunity for the coaching staff to witness the players applying what they had learned during the intense Storm pre-season training in the high-octane environment of a game.
