Nathan Cleary's potential move to rugby union continues to be a hot topic, with Matty Johns expressing his concerns over the switch.

The rugby league legend fears that Cleary could be lured away to play in the UK, potentially leaving the NRL behind.

Cleary has become a standout in the NRL, guiding Penrith to an unprecedented fourth consecutive premiership and solidifying the Panthers as the dominant team of the era.

Despite not yet making a mark in State of Origin or winning a Dally M Medal, the 26-year-old has already etched his name in the history books as one of the greatest halfbacks of all time, with many predicting a future spot in the Immortals.

While the Panthers may not have claimed the World Club Challenge title, they recently opted out of the annual showdown against the Super League champions due to concerns of a jam-packed schedule leading up to their season opener in Las Vegas.

During the off-season, Cleary is expected to make a trip to the UK to visit his partner Mary Fowler, who is currently excelling in her football career with Manchester City.

As Fowler celebrates recent victories in the Women's Super League and Champions League, Cleary's future in both rugby league and potentially rugby union remains uncertain.
