Kalyn Ponga has reaffirmed his commitment to the Newcastle Knights, confirming he will stay with the team until the conclusion of his contract in 2027, despite ongoing speculation about his future.

This announcement comes amid a challenging eighth season for Ponga at the Knights, with recent rumors hinting at a possible transition to rugby union.

Reports suggest he has engaged a New Zealand-based agent, fueling further speculation given his familial ties-his father was born in New Zealand-and his participation with the Māori All Stars over the years.

The uncertainty around Ponga coincides with rumors that coach Adam O'Brien might be let go at season's end, as the Knights sit in 13th place after 19 rounds, seemingly on track to miss the finals.

However, Ponga took to social media to clarify his stance, stating, "Committed to the end of 2027.

Excited about the vision of the club.

Appreciate those that support me!"
