The PNG Chiefs are preparing to showcase their logo and launch their first NRL jersey at a special event in Port Moresby.
The club has announced the logo will be revealed on October 21, while the jersey will be unveiled on October 22.
This announcement highlights the club's ongoing preparations for their first NRL match in 2028, alongside plans to upgrade stadium capacity and secure accommodations for players, staff, and families at the Airways Resort.
While details about the logo's design remain under wraps, it is reportedly inspired by the values of the Papua New Guinean people, reflecting their cultural pride as the club seeks to unite the nation.
PNG Chiefs CEO Lorna McPherson stated it will be a significant moment for the organization.
"the logo will give the club a recognisable identity and symbol that the players, staff, sponsors, community and supporters can resonate with and truly call their own," she asserted.
The Chiefs' recruitment efforts are seemingly ongoing, as the Canberra Raiders have permitted Hudson Young to negotiate with the club.
With Nathan Cleary likely to explore the open market on November 1, the Chiefs are anticipated to extend an offer up to $1.5 million per season to bring back the four-time premiership-winning halves duo.
McPherson described the upcoming event as a "remarkable day of celebration - not only for the PNG Chiefs but for Papua New Guinea as a whole," with the logo reveal set for October 21 and the jersey for October 22.
The jersey reveal will be the first opportunity for Chiefs supporters and NRL fans to see the kits that star players like Jarome Luai, Alex Johnston, Connor Watson, Matty Lees, Zac Lomax, Brian To'o, and Joseph Manu will wear during the club's inaugural match.
The jersey will have a strong connection to the wider PNG community, as a local artist will be designing the inaugural kit.
