Rugby League Rebel John Hopoate Admits to Driving Charge

Former NRL troublemaker and Aussie footy legend John Hopoate has admitted to a serious driving offense, with potential time in the slammer looming on the horizon.

Zero Tackle has the scoop on this latest development.

Hopoate, known for his rough and tumble playing style on the field, found himself in hot water yet again after being nabbed behind the wheel of a truck up in the Northern Beaches.

The catch? His license was already suspended, mate.

The Manly Daily reports that the incident went down in Collaroy back in December, setting the stage for a courtroom showdown on March 27.

If convicted, Hopoate could be looking at a maximum of 12 months in the clink for this repeat offense.

This isn't the first time the former footy star has found himself in the ref's bad books.

Last year, he was slapped with a driving ban all the way til 2025, adding to his laundry list of 13 suspensions throughout his career.

Magistrate Lisa Stapleton didn't mince words during the hearing, noting Hopoate's knack for skirting the rules.

Stay tuned as this footy legend's off-field antics continue to make headlines across the Aussie sports scene.
