In a classic case of keeping the home fires burning, New Zealand Warriors playmaker Luke Metcalf has officially locked in his future by inking a fresh contract.

The footy aficionados over at zerotackle.com have spilled the beans on Metcalf's decision to remain in the Land of the Long White Cloud for another couple of seasons, with the signing of a contract extension taking him right through until the end of the 2026 campaign.

A seasoned pro at just 25, Metcalf made the jump to the Warriors after a whirlwind stint with the Cronulla Sharks.

Following a breakout season in 2023, he has solidified his spot in the halves, forming a formidable partnership with the legendary Shaun Johnson.

But before his days in the Warriors' black and white, Metcalf honed his skills in the youth leagues, cutting his teeth with the Cronulla Sharks in the Harold Matthews Cup, SG Ball Cup, and NYC Under-20s competition, before a solid three-year spell with the Manly Sea Eagles.

"I'm absolutely stoked to be extending my stay.

I've found my groove here and I'm not planning on hitting the road anytime soon," Metcalf shared in a club statement that will surely have Warriors fans cheering from the bleachers.
