New Zealand international representative Phoenix Crossland has extended his contract with the Newcastle Knights for two more years, keeping him at the club until the end of 2028.

The decision to secure Crossland early means he will not be able to negotiate with other clubs until after 2028.

Known for his versatility in playing lock, hooker, or in the halves, Crossland is praised by Knights head of recruitment Peter O'Sullivan as "one of the toughest players in the NRL" and a "poster boy for the pathways development." The club sees him as a key player in their system, highlighting his work ethic, hooker skills, and leadership development.

Crossland's commitment to the Knights solidifies his role as a role model for aspiring junior players.
