Canterbury Bulldogs outside back Jacob Kiraz has been sidelined with a back injury since the end of last year, causing him to miss the start of the 2024 season.
Originally expected to be out for a month, his return timeline is now uncertain as the team remains unbeaten and other players are performing well in his absence.
GM of Football Phil Gould emphasized that Kiraz will not be rushed back until he is fully recovered.
Gould stated, "I don't think (it's a concern) so much longer term." Kiraz was a standout player in the previous season and was even in contention for his debut with the Australian Kangaroos.
The Bulldogs are preparing to face the Parramatta Eels, where Kiraz's former teammate Josh Addo-Carr plays, this Sunday.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Kiraz's return, the team is focused on maintaining their winning streak without putting pressure on the injured player to come back prematurely.
