Phil Gould, the director of football for the Canterbury Bulldogs, has provided an encouraging update about his hospital stay. He explained that his hospitalization was necessary following routine blood tests that indicated the need for further investigation.

On Wednesday evening, journalist Danny Weidler reported that Gould had been in the hospital since Monday, though specific details were scarce.

On Thursday, Gould took to social media to express his gratitude for the outpouring of support and noted that the medical team had made an early discovery. He stated, "Thank you to all the very kind well-wishers. Greatly appreciated."

He continued by assuring everyone that "Everything is ok." Gould elaborated on his situation by saying, "My regular blood tests this week showed up something else that needed investigation. Basically, I came in to change the tyres, and they found a problem with the engine. Go figure."
