In response to speculation about Bulldogs star Josh Addo-Carr potentially moving to a rival club, Phil Gould, the Bulldogs general manager of football, seemed to brush off the rumors with a laugh.
It was reported that up to four NRL rival clubs had shown interest in signing the winger.
Despite Addo-Carr being contracted with the Bulldogs until the end of 2025, his recent two-game suspension following his involvement in a Koori Knockout brawl has fueled speculation that he may want to leave the club.
This suspension prevented him from playing in Mal Meninga's Kangaroos team against Samoa and New Zealand, and he is said to be appealing the penalty.
Gould had previously met with Addo-Carr to address reports of his dissatisfaction, and he had stated in October that the winger was eager to return to the field for the Bulldogs in 2024.
However, despite these reassurances, the rumors continue to swirl.
There have been suggestions of a potential player swap with the Eels, with Materson joining the Bulldogs, but this seems unlikely given that Josh Curran has recently joined the Bulldogs' back-row from the Super League.
When asked about the speculation, Gould responded with a laughing emoji, further indicating that he doesn't take the rumors seriously.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Addo-Carr and whether he will continue with the Bulldogs or make a move to a rival club.
