Hull KR head coach Willie Peters is optimistic about his team's chances in the upcoming knockout rugby matches as they aim for a place in the Betfred Super League Grand Final, having recently secured the League Leaders' Shield.

The team faced a tough challenge from the Warrington Wolves in their last regular-season game. After conceding three quick tries from Sam Stone, Adam Holroyd, and Josh Thewlis in the second half, Hull KR found themselves trailing 20-16.

However, they managed to mount an impressive comeback, driven by individual brilliance from Arthur Mourgue and a late try from Tyrone May, ultimately winning 28-20. This victory marked the first time in the club's history that they clinched the League Leaders' Shield.

With this achievement, Hull KR joins the ranks of nine other clubs that have won the Shield, including notable teams like Bradford Bulls, Leeds Rhinos, and St Helens. Moreover, their win also signifies a historic double, as they had previously won the Challenge Cup, the first for Hull in over 140 years.

Despite celebrating this significant milestone, concerns were raised about Hull KR's performance. They displayed inconsistencies in both their offensive and defensive games, with their recent struggles, following a surprising loss to Wakefield in Round 26, coming at a pivotal time in the season.
