The Perth Bears are targeting two underrated players in the NRL as they prepare to establish their inaugural roster. With the ability to negotiate with off-contract players until the end of the 2026 season, they're gearing up to make significant moves.

Although they have yet to make any signings, the Bears aim to be a major presence in the transfer market, looking to secure at least ten players before the end of 2026, all within a tight two-month timeframe.

Recently, the expansion team has been linked to various stars like Cameron Munster, Harry Grant, and Selwyn Cobbo, in addition to other notable players such as Toby Sexton and Gehamat Shibasaki.

Among those considered underrated is Wishart, who is under contract with the Storm for just another year. His versatility, allowing him to cover nearly any position in both the forwards and back-line, makes him a highly sought-after player in the open market.

The 25-year-old, a two-time Prime Minister's XIII representative with over 80 NRL appearances, has primarily been utilized from the interchange bench with his current team. A potential move to the Bears could position him as a key player in their starting halves pairing.

Additionally, the St George Illawarra Dragons have shown interest in Wishart as they seek to strengthen their roster.
