The Perth Bears are reportedly finalizing the signing of Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui for their first season in the NRL.
Fa'asuamaleaui is set to move to the Catalans Dragons in France for 2026 after leaving the Gold Coast Titans at the end of 2025.
According to recent reports from England via News Corp, the forward, who debuted in 2023 and played 28 games for the Titans, is expected to join the Bears on a contract for 2027.
His upcoming season in France may allow him to fully establish himself as a top-tier player, a position he found challenging while with the Titans, where he played alongside his brother and team captain, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui.
Tino has several options available in his contract starting in 2027 and is currently a free agent.
Although the Titans' Queensland and Australian prop has indicated he will allow the Gold Coast some time to improve before deciding on his future, rumors suggest that the Bears could potentially offer him as much as $1.5 million per year.
This contract would position him among the highest-paid players in the league. Currently, the Western Australian team has officially signed four players: Toby Sexton, Harry Newman, Emarly Bitungane, and Luke Smith.
