Former Roosters Junior Inks Deal with Bears Feeder
Although the Perth Bears have not yet secured their first signings for 2027, efforts are underway to establish a strong foundation, with one promising player capturing the attention of this new NRL franchise.
Highly-rated junior, Ben Taylor, who previously played for the Sydney Roosters and Manly Sea Eagles, is set to make a significant move to the north. He will join the Brisbane Tigers, a feeder team for the Bears, as he aims for a full-time pathway into senior football in anticipation of the Bears' debut season in 2027.
Having developed through the Roosters system before his time with the Sea Eagles, Taylor is now welcomed by the Tigers. This opportunity includes a spot in the senior QLD Cup, marking an important step in his athletic development.
A major reason for Taylor's relocation to the north is the forthcoming establishment of the Bears. He is regarded as a long-term asset who aligns with the style and roadmap the expansion team is targeting.
The Tigers are in the process of assembling a roster of players who could seamlessly transition into the new Bears franchise once they enter the NRL.
In joining the Tigers, Taylor becomes one of the first young talents to strategically position himself within the Bears' feeder system.
The Tigers are anticipated to formally announce the signing soon.
