The Perth Bears have made a significant addition to their roster by signing Josh Curran from the Canterbury Bulldogs, marking their most experienced NRL acquisition to date with a three-year agreement.
On Wednesday, Curran was officially announced as the eighth player to join the franchise, confirming his move west after completing the 2023 season with the Bulldogs.
With over 100 matches of NRL experience, Curran is currently the most seasoned player signed by the Bears.
He is set to play a pivotal role in leading the Bears' forward pack, teaming up with Liam Henry as the club prepares to enter the competition in 2027.
Curran offers versatility, capable of playing both prop and back row positions, an asset deemed vital for constructing the Bears' inaugural team.
"This is an exciting opportunity that I just couldn't pass up," Curran said in a Bears statement.
"The chance to be a part of the Bears' inaugural squad, to have my name as one of their first signings, is surreal.
"I'm passionate about getting out in the community, and to have the opportunity to create something from the ground up that can inspire a whole state also motivates me."
