As of now, it has been 27 days since the Perth Bears have made an official signing announcement.
Is this cause for panic? Definitely not. Is it a bit concerning? Perhaps.
While I may be overly eager or perhaps swayed by the "ten signings by Christmas" claim, I expected some announcements by this point.
I recognize that negotiations can be lengthy, but the Bears have been connected to a variety of players for several months.
Even though formal discussions with players began on November 1, the lengthy period since then-20 days, plus any cooling off time before a formal announcement-should have resulted in at least one announcement by now.
There are reports of development players being signed, along with strong speculation regarding a notable Super League player that is expected to be revealed soon. While I won't delve into speculation, the names have certainly circulated widely.
Despite this slow start, I'm not overly concerned. And fans of the NRL's newest team shouldn't be worried either.
