After months of speculation, the Perth Bears have officially announced their first two signings for the upcoming inaugural season in 2027.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Bears confirmed that centre Harry Newman and halfback Toby Sexton will join the club after both signed two-year contracts.

This announcement follows the Bears' attempts to secure other high-profile players, including Beau Fermor, Harry Grant, and Jayden Campbell.

"I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Toby and Harry to the Perth Bears in what is a truly historic day for the club," coach Mal Meninga stated.

At just 24 years old, Sexton will don the club's No.7 jersey and is expected to take on a significant role in the team's attack, as the Bears seek to identify his halves partner.

A former Australia Schoolboys representative, Sexton has accumulated 65 appearances with the Gold Coast Titans and Bulldogs since debuting in 2021.

On the other hand, Harry Newman joins from the Leeds Rhinos of the Super League, where he has made 129 appearances since debuting in 2017 after progressing through the club's academy.
