Thomas Jenkins has scored 30 tries in 24 matches for Penrith in 2026, matching South Sydney's Alex Johnston at the top of the NRL tally.
The winger began with 12 tries across his opening five games and now sits in contention for Kevin Walters' Australian Kangaroos squad.
With the World Cup starting in October, Jenkins has no more than two NRL matches left to strengthen his case.
Australia may have outside-back vacancies after Mark Nawaqanitawase left the code and Josh Addo-Carr's representative future became uncertain following an alleged off-field incident.
They formed Australia's wings during the 2025 Ashes tour against England.
"Obviously, a massive goal," Jenkins said on Channel 7's Agenda Setters: Rugby League.
"I got asked the other day if I could represent anyone else, and I'll probably be able to represent someone. But it wouldn't feel right if it wasn't Australia.
"So hopefully two more games leading into that. But it is a personal goal of mine, and I'd be really excited to do that. But Sunday's the one (focus) first."
That immediate focus is Penrith's pursuit of a fifth championship in six years, beginning with a Week 3 finals clash against Newcastle and winger Dominic Young.
Newcastle have exceeded expectations under captain Kalyn Ponga, who Jenkins identified as a major threat but declined to explain how Penrith would contain him.
