Now captain Isaah Yeo is reported by News Corp to have agreed to an extension, amid speculation about players whose contracts expire at the end of next season.
The reported deal would add four years at Penrith from 2026 and could take Yeo past 350 NRL appearances for the Panthers.
Discussions are also continuing over a role with the club after Yeo retires.
A key figure in Penrith's success, Yeo is playing with a torn pectoral muscle as the side pursues the trophy next weekend in October.
He has also captained NSW and Australia during the Panthers' four-peat.
Contract discussions with Nathan Cleary are reportedly progressing, despite speculation about a possible exit.
Penrith are said to be well placed to retain the halfback beyond 2027, but he can negotiate with rival clubs from November 1 for a 2028 deal.
His younger brother Jett is set to return to Australia to continue his NRL development, creating the possibility of the pair playing together at Penrith.
