Nathan Cleary, the champion Penrith halfback, has made a significant impact both on and off the field.

While his remarkable performance in the grand final comeback has earned him praise, it is his endorsement of the 'Yes' campaign for the Voice referendum that has sparked intense debate.

In a TikTok video filmed inside the Penrith dressing room three weeks ago, Cleary expressed his support for the 'Yes' vote, which was released after his team's victory over the Brisbane Broncos.

The 25-year-old's outstanding display in the grand final has been hailed as the best individual performance in the history of the event, earning him a second Clive Churchill Medal.

His endorsement of the 'Yes' campaign follows his interest in the cause after a presentation by Indigenous leader Roy Ah-See to the Penrith players.

Ah-See lauded Cleary's commitment to creating a more inclusive country, stating, "I'm just so proud of him.

They are leaders in their space and what they do."
