Penrith Panthers Pounce on May with Contract Extension

The Penrith Panthers have pulled off a huge retention play, locking in star outside back Taylan May until 2026.

May, who missed the entire 2023 season due to an ACL injury suffered in a clash with St Helens in the World Club Challenge, has made a strong comeback at centre this year.

Known for his hard-running style and powerhouse plays, May's shift to the centre position was prompted by Sunia Turuva taking over on the wing last season.

After weeks of negotiations, the Panthers announced on Friday that May has signed a two-year extension, much to the delight of the club.

"Taylan's commitment to the Panthers for the next two seasons is fantastic news," said Panthers General Manager of Rugby League, Shane Elford, in a statement.

This move solidifies the Panthers' lineup and secures a key player for the future battles on the field.
