Penrith Panthers lock in star schoolboy talent

The Penrith Panthers have decided to back a rising star in the Rugby League world by extending the contract of promising fullback, Jack Attard.

This move comes after letting go of Liam Ison and Isiah Iongi in recent years, who have since gone on to rival teams.

A standout player in the Harold Matthews Cup program last season, Attard has quickly made a name for himself as a highly-touted prospect.

He even made his mark by scoring the first try for the Australian Schoolboys against the Junior Kumuls.

Hailing from the renowned St Dominic's College, this fullback has recently led the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (NSWCCC) to victory in the National Schoolboys Championships.

Not to mention, he's also known for his skills as a goal-kicker.

According to a report from The Daily Telegraph, the Panthers have secured Attard for another two seasons after his impressive performance with the U18s Australian Schoolboys team in 2024.

This contract extension demonstrates the club's confidence in Attard's potential, especially after parting ways with other young fullbacks like Liam Ison (now with the Cronulla Sharks) and Isaiah Iongi (who joined the Parramatta Eels) in previous seasons.

It looks like Penrith is betting on Attard to be a key player in their future success.
