Newcastle will field the side it named for Sunday's preliminary final against Penrith, while the Panthers have made changes to their starting lineup.
Jack Cole and Jack Cogger are set to begin in the halves, with Nathan Cleary named on the bench as he manages a foot injury.
Penrith's arrangement leaves the club able to decide whether to use its star halfback or keep him fresh for a grand final, should the Panthers qualify.
Cleary limped through the final 10 minutes of the week-one finals win over the Sydney Roosters, and scans later found a "stress-related bone issue".
Asked on Saturday whether his son could start, coach Ivan Cleary joked, "Is he impact off the bench?"
"Nah, Nath is ready to play. He is obviously carrying an injury but there wouldn't be many players out there for any team at the moment who aren't.
"It's just that time of year. But we're super confident that all the guys are ready."
Cleary's bench role also raises questions about whether he will be able to kick when he enters the match.
Liam Henry replaces Lindsay Smith in Penrith's starting side, and Scott Sorensen starts instead of Isaiah Papali'i.
