North Queensland Cowboys head coach Todd Payten has received a 'final warning' from the NRL due to his ongoing criticism of officiating standards.
This follows comments he made after a recent match against the Penrith Panthers, where his team drew.
The NRL released a statement indicating that Payten's remarks have prompted persistent warnings since as early as 2020.
They stated, "The NRL has issued Cowboys coach Todd Payten with a final warning for repeated and consistent criticism of NRL Match Officials." This final warning specifically pertains to comments made after Round 10 of the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership.
