The $3 Million Question: Payne Haas Breaks Silence on Links to R360

Brisbane Broncos star front-rower Payne Haas has offered a vague response regarding his potential ties to the rebel rugby union competition, R360.

Regarded as one of the finest props in rugby league history, Haas has earned several accolades, including multiple Paul Morgan medals (Broncos Player of the Year) and numerous Dally M Prop of the Year awards. Additionally, he was named the 2019 Dally M Rookie of the Year, secured a premiership, and has represented Australia, Samoa, and the NSW Blues.

Currently among the highest-paid forwards in the league, Haas is uncontracted for the 2027 NRL season, giving him the freedom to engage with rival teams and codes. This situation positions him to become one of the highest-paid players across both rugby league and union.

After being offered a $3.5 million contract extension from the Broncos until the end of 2029 in October, Haas faces speculation regarding a move to R360.

While on a family vacation in Fiji, Haas refrained from providing details about his future but did not dismiss the rumors surrounding R360, who are reportedly ready to offer him an astonishing $3 million (tax-free) per season-more than triple his current salary with the Broncos.

"I'm just letting the people who are looking after all that kind of stuff sort that out, they've got more knowledge than me," Haas mentioned in an interview with 7News Queensland.

"I'm just here to enjoy my family holiday now and put my feet up. I'm just going there with my family. I haven't really spent that much time with them."
