Cronulla Sharks' club legend Paul Gallen has strongly criticized the controversy surrounding the team's NRL finals elimination match at Shark Park.

The debate centers around the capacity of the stadium, with some arguing that the Sharks should not be allowed to play there due to the upcoming renovations, which will reduce the capacity to around 12,000.

The NRL community appears divided on this issue, with some fans appreciating the unique aspect of hosting games at suburban grounds during the finals, while others believe it limits the potential of these important matches.

Former Panthers player Greg Alexander and Roosters coach Brad Fittler are among those who advocate for moving the game.

However, Gallen vehemently disagrees, highlighting the Sharks' hard work throughout the season to earn a home ground advantage in the first week of the finals.

He questions why other clubs are allowed to choose their venue while the Sharks are being forced to relocate.

Gallen expressed his views in an article for Wide World of Sports.
