Brisbane Broncos enforcer, Patrick Carrigan, has shut down talks of taking over the captaincy from Adam Reynolds as the Michael Maguire era approaches at Red Hill.
The seasoned veteran Reynolds has come under fire after the Broncos' dismal 12th place finish last season, leading to the departure of former coach Kevin Walters.
Carrigan, known for his leadership skills on the field, has often stepped up in Reynolds' absence and was recently honored with his second Paul Morgan Medal as the team's Player of the Year.
With Reynolds' contract set to expire in 2025 and his limited game time in the previous season due to injuries, the 26-year-old Carrigan is seen as a natural choice to potentially succeed him as captain.
Having made his debut for the Broncos in 2019, Carrigan has cemented his place as a top NRL, Maroons, and Kangaroos prop, showcasing his prowess and dedication to the sport.
Despite the speculation swirling around the captaincy, Carrigan remains focused on his role within the team and is committed to leading by example on the field.
